The Nutcracker staged at Harpa

This weekend, the main stage of Harpa, Iceland's glittering concert hall and conference centre, will be the setting of Tchaikovsky's famed ballet, The Nutcracker. The ballet, which sets the tone for the Christmas season, will be performed by the St.Petersburg Festival Ballet with music performed by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. 

Inspired by ETA Hoffmann's short story, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker is undoubtedly one of the most popular ballets of the past century and is staged by numerous ballet companies around the world over the winter months. 

There are five performances of The Nutcracker at Harpa this weekend including special hours suitable for the smallest of guests on Sunday at 1 p.m and 5 p.m.
