Eurosonic a success

Nineteen Icelandic bands took part in an Icelandic showcase at the Eurosonic festival in the Netherlansd last week. According to Sigtryggur Baldursson, managing director of IMX Iceland Music Export, investment returns on the project will be multiple.
The Eurosonic festival is attended by representatives of all the main music festivals in Europe who are there to book new artists.
"Most of the Icelandic artists were booked for festivals this year, and a few made record and publishing contracts," says Baldursson in an interview with mbl.is and adds that the project is the largest IMX project so far. He explains that the bands were selected by IMX, and that many of them are not mainstream bands in Iceland but have received interest from abroad.
