Hallgrímskirkja church in central Reykjavik is in second place on a list of the world's 50 strangest buidings on the website strangebuildings.com. Only the mysterious stone building in Guimaraes in Portugal is considered stranger.

Hallgrímskirkja is located at the top of the Skólavörðuholt heath where it towers above the city. The architect was Guðjón Samúelsson and it took over four decades to finish the building.
