Iceland is the first Nordic nation to offer Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The first Krispy Kreme is to open at the Smáralind shopping mall in Kópavogur, in the greater Reykjavik area. 

In a press announcement it states that Krispy Kreme doughnuts are baked fresh from scratch every day and that the coffee specialists at Icelandic chain Te og Kaffi will be making their special blend of coffee. 

The Krispy Kreme branch will be situated inside the Hagkaup store in Smáraind. Krispy Kreme was founded in the USA in 1937 and today has over 1100 branches worldwide. 

Dunkin' Donuts now have several branches in Reykjavik.
