Borðið is one of the food stalls at Hlemmur Mathöll, the new food hall at Hlemmur. It's a restaurant that's been located in West Reykjavik and has now opened a small branch at the food hall.

"We've been up and running for a year and half at Ægissíða and when we were offered the chance to open a small branch at Hlemmur we jumped at it. We offer Italian and Mediterranean food using ingredients both from those parts of Europe as well as Icelandic ones. The most important thing to us is using fantastic ingredients," says owner Arnar Bjarnason.

Borðið offers a variety of sandwiches with cold cuts and cheeses from the Mediterranean as well as dishes such as gnocchi. "But it's fast food really, at a good price, but it's good quality fast food."

Borðið also offers a fantastic selection of natural wines that are made without any additives whatsoever.  Their most popular dish, according to Bjarnason, is their deep fried parmesan gnocchi with basil mayo, cherry tomatoes and parma ham.

Hlemmur Mathöll is open every day and offers a variety of small restaurants and a vegetable market. On weekends before Christmas you'll find outdoor Christmas market stalls.
