Flight prices to rise

Flights to Copenhagen and Paris will be getting considerably more expensive than in recent weeks, while flights to Manchester and Boston will be getting cheaper. Prices to Boston have felt the effect of the arrival on the route of low-cost airline WOWair, whose flights are typically ISK 50,000 (approx. €335) cheaper than Icelandair’s, despite Icelandair not charging for hold or hand luggage.
These are some of the findings of a price comparison survey carried out by Dohop. The survey gathers together price information for flights from Iceland over the next few weeks and compares prices to destinations where the market offers competition. The prices quoted are based on one passenger taking a return flight with one hold suitcase and hand luggage under 5kg.
easyJet cheapest to UK
On routes to destinations in the UK served by easyJet, the British airline is never beaten price on price. The cheapest destination from Iceland in the near future is Oslo, with very little difference in price between the various airlines operating the route.
Three points in time were chosen for the purposes of comparing prices: two week, four weeks and eight weeks from now.

On the whole prices are set to rise by 10% from the last survey period and 4% on a month-on-month basis.
