Reykjavik bans coaches in city centre
Reykjavik City Council has decided to ban large coaches from driving through the city centre. Instead, twelve dedicated passenger drop-off points in central Reykjavik will be set up.
The Council has sent a formal request to the police to close off roads to large coaches. New rules on coach driving will be announced when the ban has been formally approved.
The ban affects all coaches over eight metres long and those contravening the new restrictions will be fined.
