More tourists in one month than ever before

72 % of tourists in August came from ten countries. Most of the tourists, or 19,2 percent of the total amount were from the USA. German tourists were 12,3 percent, then French with 8,5 percent, British with 8,0 percent, Italians with 4,8 percent, Spanish with 4,8 percent, Chinese with 4,3 percent, Canadians with 3,7 percent, Danes with 3,2 percent and Swedes at 3,1 percent. The greatest increase between years was in tourists from the USA, Britain, Germany and China. 

Since January 1st, 887,146 tourists have left Iceland, an increase of 187,336.
