Today is Icelandic Nature Day! This special day has been held on 16 September every year since 2011 and is a chance for us all to celebrate the breathtaking beauty of Iceland’s flora, fauna and physical geography.

Celebrations and special events will be held across the country under the aegis of the Icelandic Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources.

Iceland Monitor’s contribution is this collection of photographs above, showing just a drop in the ocean of the stunning wonders of nature Iceland has to offer. Enjoy!
