Merlin eats starling in the middle of a Reykjavik parking lot
Nature was certainly visible in the centre of Reykjavik yesterday when a merlin was spotted feasting on a starling, seemingly unperturbed by passers by.
The incident occurred at a parking lot in Ingólfsstræti and was captured by Þórarinn Einarsson who sent it to mbl.is.
A merlin is a bird of prey. It's the smallest type of falcon, measuring 29-33 cm.
The bird seen here was so engrossed in his lunch that he didn't even move when a rather disgusted woman wanted to move her car.
