Temperatures could plunge to minus twenty in Iceland today

The weather in Iceland is cold today with temperatures of - 5 to -10 C degrees in lowlands but up to -20 in the highlands according to the Iceland Met Office. 

This evening however marks the end of the cold spell with warmer temperatures and tomorrow, Saturday, some snow and sleet is expected. On Sunday there will be rain in most parts of the country and no frost.
