Fewer support the government

The conservative Independence Party remains Iceland's largest political party according to a new opinion poll produced by Capacent. The party, which forms the current coalition government with the centrist Progressive Party, is supported by 27 percent of the electorate.

The Social Democratic Alliance is the second largest party with 19 percent and the Bright Future is supported by 16 percent of the voters. The Left Green Movement comes next with 12.5 percent and the Pirate Party has the support of 7.3 percent.

The government is supported by 38.5 percent compared with 41.6 percent a month ago.
