The volcanic eruption in Holuhraun in rural Iceland continues into the second month with no signs it's about to stop. Meanwhile the ground keeps trembling around Bárðarbunga. Several strong earthquakes took place today according to information from the Icelandic Met Office. The strongest one was measured 5.0 and happened at 12:42 pm (GMT).

Total of 27 earthquakes have occurred since 7:00 am this morning. Most of them at the northern rim of Bárðarbunga and were less than 1.5. Another strong earthquake happened at 6:49 pm which was measured as 4.7. Six earthquakes have occurred at mount Herðubreið since 7:00 am, all less than 2.0.
