Some 20 thousand people 70 years or older have a valid Icelandic driver's licence according to information from the Icelandic police. The exact number is 19,915. Those who have reached that respectable age need to renew their licence more often than before and after people turn eighty they have to do that every year.

Currently the oldest person with a valid Icelandic driver's licence was born in 1912 and is thus 102 years old this year. The second oldest is only a year younger. Then there are two people born in 1915 and another three in 1916. Whether any of them are still actually driving a vehicle is another question. Below is a complete list of all people over 80 with valid Icelandic driver's licences.
