New proposal for sports stadium

The Icelandic Football Association has presented designs of a new national stadium in Laugardalur, Reykjavík which would seat at least 15 thousand people. 

"We believe that the financing of such construction won't become a reality unless with the backing of interested financers," says Geir Þorsteinsson, chairman of the association. "Ownership of the building would be the City  of Reykjavík who would then make a long-term contract with the users," he says in an interview with Morgunbladid today.
