Watch the Pink Street Boys eat a giant kebab

Anna Margrét Björnsson

The loudest band in Iceland, Pink Street Boys, play in- your- face, stomach-kicking punk rock. In recent years they have changed their name and their music from the Link Wray inspired Kid Twist to the psychedelic Dandelion Seeds and finally to the kick-arse Pink Street Boys.

To prove that the Pink Street Boys will last forever, they have of course got themselves some matching band tattoos. We spoke to them about bad gigs, got a sneak peek of their body art and watched them eat giant bacon kebabs in their local hang out in Kópavogur, a suburb of Reykjavík.

Get the Pink Street Boys' limited edition cassette, Trash from the Boys on Ladyboy records HERE.

Catch the Pink Street Boys live at the following concerts:

Wednesday, Gaukurinn at 23.20

Saturday, Kex Hostel (off venue) at 12.00

Saturday, Gaukurinn at 20.50

In the next couple of days mbl.is will be meeting with some of the Icelandic bands playing at Iceland Airwaves. For the full festival schedule see HERE.
