It seems that the workshop of controversial pick-up artist Julien Blanc has been cancelled. The workshop has been removed from website Real Social Dynamics. Over 11 thousand Icelanders signed a petition called "Stop Julien Blanc" in order to stop him from coming to Iceland.

Originally Blanc intended to host a three day course in Reykjavík costing 250 thousand ISK and last week the company added a free three hour course. Both have been removed from the website.

Blanc teaches men to pick up women using derogatory methods and his words and actions seem to advocate both physical and mental violence towards women.

Icelandic comic artist and writer Hugleikur Dagsson made international news with his Facebook post on how to react to Blanc in Iceland. Instead of banning him from coming to the country, Dagsson suggested that all Icelandic men upon seeing Blanc should hit on him in the street as he is most likely homophobic as well as mysogynistic.

"I think this will be the funniest thing ever. Let’s not help him feel like a hero. Let’s make him feel like the one thing he most despises. Let’s make him feel like a chick, " says Dagsson in his post, here translated into English by the Reykjavík Grapevine.
