Most roads unpassable

The Road Administration's road map of Iceland is looking rather Christmasey at the moment with most of the roads coloured red. Red means unpassable and green roads are passable. As you can see, few green roads are left on the map.
According to the road administration, Hellisheiði and Þrengsli are still closed. The road is closed in Kjalarnes and by Hafnarfjall mountain and the road adminsitration warns of heavy winds and bad visibility on Reykjanesbraut.
The road between Þorlákshöfn and Hveragerði is extremely icy and most roads in south Iceland are icy with a covering of snow. Mosfellsheiði is closed and in a storm is raging in West Iceland, in the West Fjords and in North Iceland.
Súðavíkurhlíð in the West Fjords is closed due to avalanche danger.
