Snow and bad visibility in the city

Traffic in Reykjavik is slow this morning as there is a lot of wind with snow blowing across the streets causing bad visibility. Drivers are urged to drive slowly and carefully. The weather has caused several minor road incidents this morning.

Pedestrians are warned not to walk in Höfðatorg and Borgartún near the tall buildings as the winds there are dangerous.

Hellisheiði and Þrengslin are closed and the road leading to Keflavik International Airport, Reykjanesbraut has extremely bad visibility and people are advised to refrain from driving there.
