Icelander not involved in ISIS!

The family of the Icelandic filmmaker who was said to be working for ISIS in a news story on Mbl.is yesterday say that there isn‘t a slightest chance that he would work for the group. The family revealed this to Mbl.is today but wish to remain anonymous
The filmmaker was in Syria for ten days one and a half years ago and filmed a doctor at work and a refugee camp amongst other things. He also accompanied anti-terrorist brigades to the line of fire in Syria and risked his life in publishing information on how terrorist groups like ISIS work. According to his relatives he hasn‘t been to Middle East since then.
His family say that he would never take part in any ISIS group activities. The filmmaker, according to relatives is now working in other war zones, far away from Syria.
The story broke on Tuesday when Middle East correspondent for the Economist Sarah Birke wrote a post in the New York Review of Books citing a Syrian defector from ISIS’s intelligence services. He said that an Icelandic filmmaker was among the recruits to the group.
