Jupiter and the Northern lights

Amateur photographer Gísli Már Árnason captured these beautiful images of Jupiter travelling across the night sky accompanied by a stunning display of Northern Lights. 

The photos, which amount to 450 altogether, were taken in the space of one hour between 22:30 and 23:30 on Tuesday night. The result was this thirty second video. 

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and is one of the most prominent stars on the night sky. Only the sun, moon and Venus are brighter.
