Storm in Snæfellsnes

There are heavy winds and snowfall in Snæfellsnes and electricity was down in many areas this morning. Most roads in the West Fjords are unpassable as well as Holtavörðuheiði leading north. The weather in Skagafjörður, north Iceland is very bad with heavy snowfall and no visibility. Roads in the north and the east are extremely icy. 

All in all, today is not at all a day for travelling. Check the Icelandic road administration for further information, as they have a constantly updated map of which roads are passable.
