Storm warning
A storm of up to 20- 25 m/s will hit the country this evening and into the night and according to the road administration, the Hellisheiði road could become unpassable. Bonfires to celebrate the twelfth day of Christmas have been cancelled in Reykjavik due to the weather and many will be held instead this Friday or Saturday.
The road administration also warns of icy patches on roads around the country.
