The inhabitants of Reykjavík have had to dig their cars out of mounds of snow formed by snowplows clearing the streets this winter. The copious amounts of snow this season have resulted in piles of snow obstructing driveways, garages and parking lots.

In an article in Morgunblaðið today people express their annoyance at this state of affairs. A local living in Mávahlíð, 105 Reykjavík says, " We've really had enough, as I'm sure a lot of people living in residential streets have, too. Snow should be plowed to where its not in the way but repeatedly the snowplows push snow back in front of our driveways. Even if we manage to shovel the snow away before it freezes then another snowplow piles it back before we return from work. "
