Two avalanches in Súðavík

Two avalanches occurred at approximately five p.m today in Súðavík, in the West Fjords on the Súðarvíkurhlíð road. Noone was injured but two cars escaped the flood by a matter of seconds.
The road is now closed to all traffic.
Weather and road conditions are bad around the country. Many roads are very icy and in north Iceland there's a blizzard.
Temperatures in Reykjavík have plunged and will go down to -7 C this weekend.
