The Icelandic naming committee has not accepted the name Huxland as a male Icelandic first name. The committee's ruling states that Huxland looks like a middle name or a surname of a neuter appellation and therefore not conforming to Icelandic rules of grammar.
The ruling also states that there are no cases of names ending in -land being used as first names in Iceland.
However, the naming committee allowed the name Þyril as a first name for a boy and the girl's names Bergsveina and Simona which have all been added to the list of accepted Icelandic names.
