The storm that hit Iceland yesterday was worst in north Iceland during the evening. Many drivers drove off the road in the outskirst of Akureyri or became stuck due to snow and extremely poor visibility.
Footage taken by a camera placed in the front pocket of a policeman in Akureyri last night shows exactly how bad the storm was. Police and rescue teams were busy coming to the aid of drivers stuck in a snowstorm last night. Visibility was close to none and drivers were urged to remain in their vehicles and wait for help.
According to the Akureyri police all rescue proceedings went well.
