The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has published on its website a map produced by International SOS showing the countries where it is riskiest to fall ill.

According to this map, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Iceland are the countries where it is safest to fall ill. The most dangerous places are Afghanistan, North Korea and African countries such as Uganda, Sudan and Congo. Popular tourist destinations such as Turkey and Egypt are, however, also classed as high-risk.

The map is specifically designed for people on their travels wanting to assess the risks to be faced in each country. The purpose of the map is to reduce the gap between public perceptions of risk and the actual situation.
