Rescue teams are currently on their way towards the two men trapped on Vatnajökull in the storm. The atrocious weather is making the journey long and difficult but the team have been in contact with the two men who say they are doing fine. They were last in contact at around 12.30 p.m. Hopefully the team will reach them by 4 p.m.

Two groups of rescue teams are on their way up Vatnajökull, one from the south and the other from the east. According to Friðrik Jónas Friðriksson, director of the Hornafjörður rescue team, the weather on the glacier is extremely bad and visibility is close to none.
