Bacteria contamination risk

Heavy rain and thawing snow have cause the Skeljanes sewage pumping station to overflow. There is therefore a risk of levels of faecal bacteria contamination exceeding reference values over the next few days.

The Reykjavik Public Health Authority therefore advises the public not to swim in the sea at Fossvogur.
