Tourist in fatal accident

A fatal car accident occurred on Suðurlandsvegur, west of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, south-east Iceland this morning. Two tourists were travelling in the car and it seems that the driver lost control of the car which skidded off the road.
One of the tourists was declared deceased when police and ambulance arrived and the other is recovering from minor injuries in hospital.
The south Iceland policeforce is investigating the accident.
