Fancy observing farmers shearing sheep whilst trying out a shot of Brennivín and a taste of dung smoked sheep? Head down to the hip Kex Hostel in central Reykjavík for the annual Golden Shears competition this Saturday.
Skilled farmers from all over the country will compete for the Golden Shears, awarded for shearing speed, quality and skills. The competition starts at 2:00 PM and will take place in our port. The sheep are from a nearby farm and are driven to KEX under supervision of a veterinarian.
Come by Kex Hostel this afternoon for a glimpse into the rural life in Iceland while your senses feast on Brennivín, dung smoked sheep and the authentic sound of the accordion.
