The charity for children with autism in Iceland is currently running a "Light it up Blue" campaign to increase autism awareness. Among the buildings in Reykjavik veiled in a blue light are Harpa, The University Hospital and Höfði house. Today, April 10th, people are urged to wear blue and many school children are participating by wearing blue today.

The aim of blue april is to rectify misconceptions about autism and to raise money for the charity. Last year, 4,5 million ISK were raised which were used to buy special teaching methods for autistic children. This year they aim to raise money towards courses for autistic children and their families to help them deal with daily challenges. More information can be found HERE.
