Lyngdalsheiði and Hellisheiði closed

The Lyngdalsheiði and Heillisheiði roads are currently impassable. Lyngdalsheiði is the road between Laugarvatn and Þingvellir and Hellisheiði lies between Reykjavik and Hveragerði. Weather in the area is very bad, with strong winds and snowfall. 

Roads in south Iceland are icy and drivers are urged to take care. The weather in west and north Iceland is also bad and many roads are closed. Please check the Icelandic road administration for details.
