Two hikers rescued from a canyon

The Akranes search and rescue service rescued two hikers yesterday who had become trapped in the canyon of Glymsgil in Hvalfjörður, south Iceland. A fellow hiker called emergency services. 

"Rescue team members brought the two women back down to safety," reads a statement from the rescue team. "The women were unharmed but had become exhausted, frightened and very cold."
