Drunk Icelander in air-rage incident
Police were called to escort a drunken passenger off an Air Berlin flight to Iceland on Tuesday.
According to police, the passenger – male, of Icelandic nationality – had consumed a considerable amount of alcohol and had been refused drinks service on board. The man reacted with threatening and disruptive behaviour towards the cabin crew.
For a while, the crew contemplated landing in Norway to have the passenger removed, but they subsequently succeeded in calming the man down. Later in the flight, the passenger’s disruptive behaviour flared up again and police assistance was requested to remove the man upon landing.
The man did not engage with any of the other passengers in any way and left the aircraft quietly. It has been decided not to press charges.
