Flights from Keflavík International Aiport (KEF) in June this year served 57 foreign cities, up from 51 in June 2014, reports Icelandic tourism and travel website turisti.is.
London and Copenhagen are the most popular destinations, accounting jointly for 16.6% of all departures from KEF last month.
US destinations New York, Boston and Washington are making their way up the list, while Berlin makes the Top 10 for the first time.
Iceland’s major international airport saw a total of 1,836 departures in June (around sixty per day), up 20% on the same period last year.
The Top 10 destinations from KEF in June 2015 were:
1. London: 8.4% of all departures
2. Copenhagen: 8.2%
3. Paris: 6.6%
4. New York: 6.5%
5. Boston: 6.2%
6. Oslo: 5.6%
7. Amsterdam: 4.3%
8. Washington: 3.5%
= Stockholm: 3.5%
10. Frankfurt: 2.9%
= Berlin: 2.9%
