Gullfoss heart attack death
A female tourist who collapsed while visiting Iceland’s famous Gullfoss waterfall on Saturday has died.
Police and ambulance crews made their way to the scene, while witnesses reported that doctors from among the other visitors began to administer CPR.
The patient – a German national, described as mature in years – was flown by Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter to A&E at the National University Hospital of Iceland (‘Landspítali’), where she was pronounced dead. The victim reportedly had a history of heart disease.
