North Iceland Police are searching for missing German tourist, Norbert Hillebrand, 34.

Hillebrand rented a hire-car in Akureyri at 12 o’clock on Sunday 26 July and was due to return it two days later at the same time. He has not been seen since.

As far as can be ascertained, Hillebrand’s plan was to drive to the volcanic site of Holuhraun. He is due to leave Iceland on Thursday 6 August.

The car he was driving is a white Dacia Duster, 2015, registration number HG L95.
