“We can be world champions”
Iceland are just two games away from becoming world champions in the 2015 IHF Men’s Youth World Handball Championship.
Convincing victories over South Korea and Brazil have put the Iceland U-19 handball team into the semi-finals of the championship currently under way in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Iceland face Slovenia tomorrow and, if successful, will meet either France or Spain in the final on Thursday.
“We believe we can go all the way,” says coach Sigursteinn Arndal, “but we are also aware that it will be extremely difficult.”
The Iceland v. Slovenia game begins tomorrow, Wednesday 19 August, at 3:30pm local time.
