Search on for boy lost on Mt.Hekla

Rescue teams have been searching for a fifteen-year-old boy who got lost while hiking on Mt.Hekla since midday today. According to rescue teams who have been in contact with him he is afraid and his phone is running out of battery. 

Mbl.is reports that the boy was hiking on Mt.Hekla with his mother and sister. He walked ahead at a faster pace and they lost him at around 2 pm. More rescue team members from Árnessysla, search dogs from Reykjavik and the National coastguard helicopter will be joining in the search. Weather conditions are ok in the area with a temperature of 10 degrees Centigrade but  a dark fog is moving down the mountainside. 

According to rescue teams, they advised the boy to stop walking and to stay put.

The boy has been found and is safe and sound. 

He was found at eleven pm tonight after an extensive search by rescue teams.
