Finance Minister on Ashley Madison

According to Þóra Margrét Baldvinsdóttir, wife of Finance Minister Bjarni Benediktsson, many people have implied that the Minister is registered on infidelity dating website Ashley Madison. Baldvinsdóttir wrote a public declaration on her Facebook page this morning on the matter. 

"Curiosity killed the cat,"she writes, explaining that a few years ago the couple had for curiosity's sake had a look at the infamous webpage. Details of more than 33 million accounts were stolen from the website and published online recently. She adds that they have received many notifications of circulating rumours that Benediktsson's email address was linked to the data leaked. "We heard about this controversial website in an international news report around 7 years ago (2008). As a consequence we took a look at the site, for curiosity's sake, and to be able to access the page we had to register a valid email, which we did as a joke.  We have never been active on the website, we never paid for membership, our brief visit to the site has not lead to any interaction with any persons and certainly not to any kind of infidelity."
