Icelandic MMA club Mjölnir will be moving from Loftakstalinn in West Central Reykjavik to the former bowling alley at Öskjuhlíð, East Reykjavik. The premises measure over 3 thousand square metres making Mjölnir the largest MMA club in the world according to director Jón Viðar Arnþórsson.

The new premises will include six practice halls, offices and a bar.

Arnþórsson expects an increase in members as Öskjuhlíð, which is the hill with the Pearl building on top of it, is more accessible for those living on the city's outskirts while still fairly central.

"We're going to be in the city's best location. Already we count around 1300 members but with the new premises we'll be able to fit two to three thousand people easily."

The Mjölnir MMA club has been enjoying growing popularity and hipster status, especially after the success of Icelandic MMA champion and Mjölnir member Gunnar Nelson.
