Video: First winter storm of the year in Iceland

The weather today has turned out pretty much according to the forecast with strong winds and heavy snowfall starting at around 9 am this morning. Winds are going down in the capital area but snowfall is still heavy and visibility is poor. 

Rescue teams are at work, especially in the suburbs of Reykjavik to assist drivers in dislodging their vehicles or to unblock main traffic veins. 

The area of low depression is now moving towards North and North East Iceland and tomorrow the forecast is for stormy weather in North Iceland for the most part of the day.
