Former head of Landsbankinn, Sigurjón Árnason was today sentenced to 18 months in prison at the Icelandic High Court for his part in price manipulation of shares. Ívar Guðjónsson and Július S. Hreiðarsson, also formerly at Landsbankinn were sentenced to 2 years and one year respectively for price manipulation of shares in Landsbanki Íslands and for deceiving investors, creditors, Icelandic authorities and the community at large.

Árnason's sentence was made longer from the previous district court ruling of 12 months. He has previously been sentenced to three and a half years for his part in the Ímon case which means that he is now serving five years altogether for offences in relation to Iceland's economic crash.
