Man driving black jeep tries to entice schoolchild

A man driving a small black jeep tried to entice a nine-year-old boy, who was on his way to Snælandsskóli school, into the car. He told the boy that his mother had been hurt in a car accident. 

The boy ran away and told his teacher about what happened as soon as he got into school who reported it immediately to police. Speaking to Mbl.is, Þóra Jónasdóttir at the Kópavogur police station, investigation is under way but the suspect has not been found. 

She says that the boy fortunately made a correct decision and says that parents should always stress the importance of not getting into cars with strangers.
