Many a chocolate-lover will recognize Halldór Kristján Sigurðsson’s name as he has taught the delicate art of assorted chocolate making for almost two decades. Now the confectioner h as acquired a special chocolate foodtruck for his lessons in downtown Reykjavík.

Halldór says The Chocolate Trailer is a classroom on wheels.

“I’ve been mulling the idea over for some years and I finally made it happen at the start of this year and had a trailer made in the Czech-Republic. Since Icelanders have been so forthcoming these 20 years I thought it would be fun to introduce Icelandic assorted chocolates to tourists.”

The courses are 60 minutes long and all the material needed is included in the price. The amateur chocolate-makers get to bring their pieces home as well as the mold, that is shaped like Iceland, to continue making chocolate at home.

“Participants learn to temper chocolate, then it is molded into the Iceland mold. Then it is filled with caramel or other delicacies and we emphasize using only Icelandic ingredients.
