Big issues waiting

Bjarni said that the nature of the matter means that the ministerial offices need to be re-appointed in these circumstances after Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir had moved to another level.

The parties had held a good dialogue in the last few days.

“And we have concluded.”

Important to continue government

Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson said that the parties found it important to continue the government. He mentioned the goal of bringing down the recent inflation in the economy and also projects related to the earthquake on the Reykjanes peninsula and the evacuation of Grindavík.

Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, the new chairman of the Left-Greens, agreed with his colleagues and said that there were big and important issues waiting to be solved by the government.

He also mentioned the review of the pension system for disabled people and the issue of foreigners. He also mentioned public transport and the city line, which he believed was important to complete.

Finally, Benediktsson stated that the keys and ministries would be exchanged tomorrow.
