Man with hammer hit by two cars
During rush hour on Saturday afternoon a man was hit by two cars on Miklabraut, one of Reykjavík's busiest thoroughfares, not far from the shopping mall Kringlan. The man, who was under the influence according to witnesses, stood in the middle of the street swinging a big hammer.
The man was first hit by one car, landing on its windscreen. He stood up again and started yelling. Then he started running into oncoming traffic before being hit by the second car. That car took off after the accident. Witnesses said police arrived a few minutes later.
