Pegida reaches Iceland

Pegida, the extreme German political movement against what it considers to be the Islamization of the Western world seems to have been founded in Iceland. The movement has opened an Icelandic Facebook page which has already received 200 likes.
Since 20 October 2014, Pegida has been organizing public demonstrations, aimed at the German government.
"We will be publishing news-related content on this page from international media connected to the Islamization of Europe," it states on the page. "News-related content which Icelandic media do not publish to silence the issue and because of political correctness."
Pegida in Germany claims to defend Christian values, to be tolerant of Muslims who have integrated into German society and they are against what they call " Hate of women and a violent ideology." They also claim to go against "lying media," and "political institutes of power" and multiculturalism.
Those against Pegida say that their discourse is coloured with the Neo Nazi discourse and criitcize them for inciting prejudice against foreigners, at a time when political refugees look to Germany with hope.
